Bristol Rovers battled to a 1-1 draw against Notts County, a result that significantly impacted the Magpies' League Two automatic promotion hopes. The in-form Pirates held their ground, forcing Notts County into the play-offs despite their efforts at Meadow Lane.

Notts County initially took the lead in the 27th minute through Bristol-born wing-back Nick Tsaroulla. His precise finish from 10 yards came after Alassana Jatta's header, following Jodi Jones' angled cross, deflected off Rovers defender Clinton Mola, setting up the opening goal.

Bristol Rovers found their equalizer in the 55th minute, courtesy of Ellis Harrison. The striker netted his 14th goal of the season, driving the ball through the legs of County keeper James Belshaw. This crucial goal was set up by a superb long cross-field pass from substitute Tommy Leigh, shifting the momentum.

Before Harrison's equalizer, Rovers had several opportunities to score. Shaq Forde was particularly active, seeing a cross-shot pushed away by Belshaw early on, then hitting the keeper's legs when clean through, and later steering wide from a tight angle. Substitute Yusuf Akhamrich also rolled a great chance wide with 11 minutes remaining.

Notts County believed they had secured a late winner five minutes from time when Jacob Bedeau touched in from close range after Matthew Dennis' chipped cross-shot hit a post. However, the centre-back's effort was ruled out for offside, preserving the 1-1 scoreline.

The draw meant that even a win would not have been enough for Martin Paterson's Notts County to clinch a top-three spot, as Cambridge secured a 0-0 draw at Crewe. Consequently, Notts County will now face Chesterfield in the League Two play-offs.
