Bristol Rovers manager Steve Evans is a reported candidate for the Hibernian managerial vacancy. The Scottish Premiership side would need to pay a compensation fee of around £250,000 to secure his services from the League Two club.
Evans, 63, has been in charge at the Memorial Stadium since 2023. His current contract with Bristol Rovers runs until 2027. Hibernian are searching for a permanent successor to David Gray, who is currently in interim charge after Nick Montgomery's departure.
The compensation clause in Evans's contract is set at approximately a quarter of a million pounds. The experienced manager has previously worked in Scotland with St Johnstone. Bristol Rovers have not commented on the speculation linking their boss with a move away.
The link comes as Evans's side sit second in League Two, having taken 12 points from their opening six matches. Their recent form shows three wins, one draw and one defeat from the last five games.
Bristol Rovers' next match is away to Gillingham on Saturday, 19 September. The club will be looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at Grimsby Town last time out. Evans is expected to take charge of the team for that fixture as the speculation continues.
