Bristol Rovers manager Steve Evans is closely monitoring the loan performances of Mees Rijks and Promise Omochere ahead of the January transfer window.
Evans confirmed he will be watching the pair, who are currently gaining experience in the National League, to assess their readiness for a potential return to the Memorial Stadium.
"We need to see how they do," Steve Evans said.
Mees Rijks joined Forest Green Rovers on a three-month loan deal that began last Friday. The midfielder made his debut in a 3-1 home defeat to Boston United, entering the match for the final 34 minutes. Forest Green's next match is against Sutton United on Saturday.
Promise Omochere moved to Southend United on a season-long loan at the start of September. The forward has already made an impact, scoring twice and providing two assists in just 135 minutes of action. He featured for 31 minutes during Southend's 6-1 victory at Gateshead FC last time out. Southend host Barrow this weekend.
Evans has a specific game in mind for his scouting mission. "I'll certainly be watching Mees," the manager said. "I think there's a game a week on Tuesday when we're not involved."
The evaluation comes as Bristol Rovers look to bounce back from consecutive League Two defeats. They sit sixth in the table with 12 points from seven games, but suffered a 3-0 loss at Gillingham last time out.
Their immediate focus returns to league action this Saturday when they host 20th-placed Exeter City. A look at the upcoming fixtures shows a busy period ahead. The form of Rijks and Omochere could provide Evans with additional options as the season progresses towards the winter window.
