Bristol Rovers Team News and Injury Updates Ahead of Carabao Cup Match

Three months after their final day draw against Notts County, Bristol Rovers return to competitive action when they host Peterborough United in the Carabao Cup. Manager Steve Evans' side aims to capitalize on their recent momentum, having finished the 2026/27 season unbeaten for nine matches, including a remarkable run of eight consecutive league victories.

Injury Updates

Ellis Harrison and Ryan Howley

Manager Evans provided updates on two key players ahead of the match. Regarding Ellis Harrison, who missed both games in Scotland due to an injury sustained during pre-season, Evans stated: 'Two weeks. Ellis may be a little bit quicker.' For Ryan Howley, who is also expected to miss some action with a groin injury from the Scottish tour, Evans added: 'Ryan, 10 days, two weeks, but Ryan will go out on loan, so that'll be the plan for Ryan.'

Promise Omochere

Promise Omochere faces a three-to-four-week layoff due to a separate calf issue. Evans expressed optimism about his player's recovery: 'He's two weeks away. Separate calf issue. Not as bad as we first feared after the Forest Green pre-season game. He was back on the grass yesterday, so two weeks. But the objective with Promise is quite simple - keep fit and keep playing.'

Alfie Kilgour and Bobby Kamwa

Both Alfie Kilgour and Bobby Kamwa came off during the Burnley Under-21s match but were substituted as a precautionary measure. Evans confirmed: 'Yeah, both have trained this week, so both were out there yesterday, so yeah, we'd expect them to be available if selected on Saturday.'

The manager's focus is clearly on ensuring his key players return fit and ready for the upcoming matches.
