Bristol Rovers travel to face Crewe Alexandra on Saturday with Jack Aitchison ruled out for around six weeks. The forward had a minor hamstring operation, manager Steve Evans confirmed ahead of the League Two fixture.
Reiss Russell-Denny provides cover in the position affected by the injury. Evans, appointed Head Coach in December 2025, takes his side to his former club sitting third in the table with 15 points from eight games.
Crewe Alexandra present a significant challenge as one of only three teams still unbeaten in the division this season. They have drawn their last six matches and sit ninth, having strengthened their squad with several new signings including Joe White from Newcastle United and Kyle Ure on loan from Celtic.
Bristol Rovers' form has been defined by a stark home and away contrast. They broke a club record for consecutive home wins with a 1-0 victory over Exeter City last time out, Fabrizio Cavegn scoring the decisive strike just past the hour mark. "An acrobatic effort just past the hour mark secured all three points," Cavegn said.
However, they have lost their last two away matches 2-0 to Grimsby Town and 3-0 to Gillingham. The full run of recent results is available on our stats page.
History adds another layer to the fixture. Bristol Rovers are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Crewe across all competitions, including a 4-2 Emirates FA Cup win at the Mornflake Stadium in December 2023. Yet they have not won a league away fixture there since March 1996.
The match kicks off at 3pm at Alexandra Stadium on Saturday. Day-of-match tickets will be available from Crewe's Away Ticket Office from midday, with cash and card payments accepted. Supporters can plan their journey and check the full fixtures schedule on the club site.
