Bristol Rovers travel to Adams Park for a Jersey Mike's Trophy group match against Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday evening. The Gas are seeking their first win in the competition this season after a mixed run of league form that sees them fifth in League Two with 15 points from nine games.

Steve Evans' side lost their opening Trophy game to Chelsea U21s on penalties despite having a two-goal lead. "Men had a two-goal lead after efforts from Mees Rijks and Joe Quigley," said Evans. That result came before a recent 3-1 league defeat at Crewe, a game in which Bobby Kamwa scored a late consolation in the 92nd minute. The team's poor recent record against Wycombe is a major hurdle, with eight defeats in the last nine meetings. Their last victory was in August 2018, when goals from James Clarke and Tony Craig secured a win at Adams Park.

Wycombe Wanderers, under interim head coach Tom Hounsell, topped their Trophy group and have added several new players. They signed forward Jayden Wareham, who scored 19 times in the third tier last year, and brought in Emre Tezgel on loan from Stoke City. Hounsell, reflecting on his start, said, "Has impressed in the dugout, securing away wins over Leyton Orient and Wigan Athletic."

Bristol Rovers will look to their top scorer, E. Harrison, who has 11 goals this season, to help overturn that history. After this cup tie, Bristol Rovers return to league action with a home fixture against second-placed Barnet on Saturday.
